Its a boring post (pls bear with me)

My dear ah-ma visited our new plc during CNY & she was asking if we cook our own meals. haha. Told her dat we do not even have a microwave or a rice cooker but we have plenty of rice in the rice bin. The whole 5kg dat we bot is still stagnant there, collecting dust~ My aunty was so hapi to hear dat cos my ah-ma has an extra microwave & its new & have nv been used! (but i tot electronic items spoil v fast when we dun use for very long??).

So Chris collected the microwave & rice cooker (thrown in by my ah-ma) when he went to her hse to collect. Its a Whirlpool one ok! Supposed to be more ex than the electrolux one dat i've been eyeing for 2mths but i suspect its an old model becos i cannt find the pic on the whirlpool website to show u guys. But i do have the pic of the 0.8L Toyomi electric rice-cooker, lol. Very obiang colour reali but beggars cant be choosers~

The funniest thing is, my ah-ma also gave us a washing machine cover. I nv knew wat a washing machine cover is until i saw one. And the worst thing is, my ah-ma gave one dats meant for a top-load ;D Very hapi dat my kitchen now has 2 more new things! I realised i like looking at those mini kitchen gadgets whenever im in Courts, HN etc. I like to look at mini coffee-makers (i dun drink coffee), sandwiches maker (i prefer soft rather than crispy sandwiches), juice blenders & any other shit dats supposed to make life easier for u. I love staring at the gorgeous hi-fi systems (they have a few in brilliant white!) but actually, they r juz meant to look nice & not much uses also. Of cos, with the extra cash we are getting in March, most of them will be set aside for car & savings since we dun have to buy microwave already.

I realised im paranoid abt cleanliness as well. I vaccum almost everyday (even kitchen & toilets cos sometimes got my hair lying around), mop at least twice a week, wash clothes thrice a week, wash toilet bowls twice a mth, wipe the study table, tv console & coffee table, kitchen cabinets once a week. Im most paranoid abt the kitchen. I dun cook at all (unless u count cooking maggi mee & instant porridge) & yet, im wiping & cleaning the whole kitchen once a week. I like to wipe non-stop & i even climb on stools so dat i can reach the top of the fridge & my glass hood to clean the dust. I also use glass cleaning agents to clean the kitchen glass doors whenever i see dust. This is reali stupid but i cant help it. I even remove the detergent dispenser of my washing machine & wash it clean & wipe the insides in case anything gets choked. Am i siao or wat????? I tink im not supposed to mop parquet floors but i cannt help it & i will use very hot water to mop (so dat the water evaporates very fast) & blast the fans at the floors so dat the wood wont rot. I also use the Lysol (anti-bacterial) spray in my 2 toilets & all the rubbish bins regularly & i buy Air-wick to put in toilets & Thirsty Hippos in ALL wardrobes & cabinets. I tink i have abt 12 Thirsty Hippos lying around. Im simply paranoid abt smells..esp those damp smells.

Shall not bore u guys any further...zzzz....

Lets all look forward to the July & Dec bonus & also to payday every month!

Where have all our $ gone to??!

I hope this year passes quickly becos after this year, i tink the financial side will look more favourable becos as at now, we r damn bloody poor. Poor as in, not enuf to have extras..juz enuf to pay the bills. Like wat XW always say, at least u can afford to pay the bills mah. Yar lar, wat u say is true lar but even if wanna watch movie or eat mac also must tink twice then something wrong rite???! Feel like complaining so pls bear with me....

Expenditures

  1. SP bill (water, electricity, gas)
  2. Internet
  3. SCV
  4. Conservancy
  5. Property tax (but its only once a yr & we juz paid $185 *ouch*)
  6. My M1 handphone bill
  7. My monthly insurance
  8. My mum's mthly allowance
  9. My mthly Ezlink top-up
  10. Chris's mum's SCV
  11. Chris's mum's conservancy
  12. Chris's income tax (by giro every mth)
  13. Chris's personal insurance
  14. Chris's M1 handphone bill
  15. Our car loan
  16. Our renovation loan
  17. PETROL
  18. Misc like, summons (we kenna summoned 4 times in a row amounting to a grand $140 this mth.....aiweeeee.......), angbaos, groceries.

And i haven include food for both of us yet. Yeah!!!! Things are looking 'great' too with the increase in GST *thumbs-up* On top of everything, we have to save up for the car road tax & car insurance. Car servicing also come very fast cos Chris travels very long distances...we have this new car for abt 3mths & we've already gone servicing twice (but actually shld b thrice but Chris forgot abt one). Each time costs abt $100 plus? Plus we buang car & paid dat FUCKING BLOODY SON-OF-A-BITCH $300 when our own big dent only cost $70. DUN ASK~ Its a long story & i rather juz pay dat sucker $300 & get rid of him.

Its a blue Monday. ZzzZzzzz....

Shopping

Do we gals reali take soooo long to shop? To b honest, i prefer to shop alone or with frens with same target or simply juz help a fren to find something nice to wear for her (cos usually i can get to buy something when im not looking to buy something!). Some comments i've come across the forum..haha...

"Remember going out with a gf of mine... and it was like shop after shop after shop... and best part is...me no good in choosing de... and had to come up with things to say for every shoe she chose to be frank..my legs were aching..mind was (can i say blanking) and yet there she was.. fresh as she was when she stepped out of the house. and guess wad follows... next day haf to go thrugh the same process again.. at another shopping mall."

"Yah..dat feeling... damn fed up... and if u go back... either the shoe shop is damn far away by then or when u go back..the size no more le"

"No wonder us guys never seem to lose interest in woman coz women realli are interesting"

"They are indeed interesting animals ,they spent money go do the dunno wat medicure or pedicure in the end nails grow long must cut away."

"Shopping with girls good! especially in shoe shop, got lots of downblouse to see!"

"The funny thing is after hearing the guy's opinion the girl makes her own decision regardless guy's opinion "

"Sorri bro i have to correct u here. they already decided B4 they hear our opinion, they juz ask so that u dont feel lonely standing there "

"Ever shop with a gf from shop open till shop closed? i did... i was wearing my jordan basketball shoes while she's in her high heels *donno hw many inch lah* and we reach shop like no tomorrow onli sitting down while we had lunch and dinner and she still went out to club after that... now thats scary... "

"For shopping ever shop from 11+am to it close abt 10pm....record at a shop is 2hrs+..just a shop alone...nbz i play court soccer 4-8 pm or a full 90min field match also not so tired shopping with my gal "

"Worse is u spent 1-2 hrs in one shop with her but end up buying nothing "

"Come to think of it... preparation for POP parade during recruit days was never this tough... though my company was the one doing bayonet fighting... it was more enjoyable doing bayonet fighting under hot sun... then to shop in air con environment and carry the loads and loads of shopping bags"

LOL...i myself cannt last very long for shopping trips. If i go with Chris, its worse cos we can finish strolling Vivocity in 30mins, lol. Its juz hard to shop with a guy around. He cant give constructive comments & he'll juz be wasting his time waiting for me to decide. Not reali wat we would call quality time rite? So, i reali dun classify shopping as couple time. Its more like a therapy for me, lol. I find dat i buy alot more things when he's not around to sulk, sigh, stand like Stamford Raffles & he's not even paying. I dun blame him cos if its me following him to Sim Lim Sq to look at computer gadgets & stuff, i tink i will head to OG myself rather than accompany him.

Some dumb stuff

As u gals noe, Chris's fren passed away on Monday due to an accident. This poor dude lost control of his bike & died on the spot at 4am on his way to camp :( Chris went to his funeral on Tue nite & many campmates 'camped' there to take turns to watch over so dat the family can rest. Of cos, so many ppl, cannt dun play mahjong rite? So he played overnite mahjong there. Last nite (which is Valentine's Day), he went to the funeral again & played overnite mahjong again~ I tink im a very gd wife to him already cos i dun mind being left alone at home on V-day ;D Where can find such a wife rite? lol Anyway, he better win some $ ytday nite, lol.

Today IS the day. 11 guys will be coming my hse to play overnite mahjong as tml is an off day for ALL of them. I wonder hw am i gg to slp tonite. I still have to work tml u noe? Still, we've prepared ALOT of drinks for them cos army guys are usually forever hungry & thirsty. They'll be coming over together with Chris after their steamboat dinner at Marina. So? Im havin dinner alone...zzz....getting reali boring...

Lunchtime today, went This Fashion & bot 1 tanktop & 1 t-shirt for $6!!! I cant say its v good quality & cannt even try one loh...but im quite sure it fits so ok lar. Feel like taking leave tml but so many ppl taking leave. But im taking PM leave on 21 Feb (Wed) & nite time will be gg Astin's condo for a home-cooked dinner ;D Very long nv eat home cooked food, so bringing Chris along too :D Oh, i also bot a trial size of shampoo & conditioner for $13. Brand is charlesWorthington & heard JW say dat its not bad (if i rem correctly) & im quite lazy to always have to go back Sengkang to buy the shampoo from my hairdresser. Hope it works, then i gota source for a hair treatment mask liao.

Nowadays take more care with my hair cos after he cut away all the damaged part of my hair & rebonded it for me, my hair definitely looks nicer & feels lighter when i wash my hair now! Decide not to dye in the end cos dun wish to subject my hair to another chemical treatment (else will drop alot more) & also, i hate to see BLACK regrowth. And im not tai tai who can always go touch up the roots loh. HAI...i would love to dye my hair thou..when im feeling rich, i will, lol~

Happy CNY to everyone! Would be taking pics during CNY but duno when can upload cos i duno why now dat i have a new desktop at home, there is no internet connection...I suspect there is something seriously wrong with my modem loh. And i juz renewed contract with Starhub for another 2yrs!!! It had better be solvable else its a torture w/o internet.

:)

A meaningful phrase dat i've come across...though of sharing with u ppl :)

"You need to have enough happiness to make you sweet

Enough trials to make you strong

Enough sorrow to keep you human

And enough hope to make you happy"

Happiness lies in our own hands!!! If we cannt achieve happiness for ourselves, no-one else can :)

SG Champion :)

I shld have place bets on last nite's game cos i was RIGHT!!!~ Omg...Any1 who had watched last nite's game between Sg & Thai would noe wat im talking about. To be frank, when the match started at 8pm, i was so tired from swimming that i dozed off. But i wokeup at 9.30 & saw the results. Damn disappointing sia...but who noes we manage to score one minutes later!!!! So hapi for the sg team esp when u see the number of sg supporters in Bangkok ;D When 4 minutes were added to the game, i feel quite stressed cos if thai manage to score another 1, then ho sey liao loh. But heng nv, heh~ Quite touching when they scored & i tink i saw a few of them dropping tears *awwwwww* They deserve 2 b the champion *thumbs up* The funniest thing was the Indonesian referee giving Indra (i tink so) a yellow card & Indra wasent even playing..he was at the sidelines loh duh~ LOLOLOL Dat one damn funi!!!! After the game ended, i was asking Chris where's the Malaysian referee??? Must thank him cos he made this victory possible loh :D Cant wait to read the papers later!

Oh, me+Chris faithfully watch The Apprentice every Sunday at 10.30pm. I noe this is weird but i enjoy the show becos Donald Trump's daugher is in it (rather than the old hag). I tink she's reali chio...esp the hair. I wonder how she gets her hair so straight & nice! LOL But too bad she nv turn up for ytday's episode. Coming Sunday will be the finale!

Till now, nv buy any CNY clothes...cant see anything i fancy. Im calculating the costs & im fearing it..cos i need to buy drinks & abalone for my parents too. Bao angbaos for them etc. My bro is coming back on 10th Feb instead of 3rd due to some delays.

Heard from one of my colleagues dat her dad paid for her wedding at Chijmes (in cash, no less)!!!! Even the reno also paid (not loan ok?) by her parents! But her hubby paid for her BS package lar. I suspect its cos she's the only daughter. They even gave her wedding presents in the form of sofa & tv!!! Siao boh??!?!?! Wats next?? Heard dat their angbaos are always in multiples of 50. I wonder why the heck is my colleague still working here??? Kaoz....take home only 1K+ & her work isnt dat easy also loh. I wonder wats her hubby doing but i rem her saying her hubby also studying part-time (but cfm not for degree cos he's already a local uni grad)...siong! ~Tong ren bu tong ming~

Im wondering if i shld go shopping today...zzzz....Its much easier to shop w/o Chris around....He'll be home late today so mayb i can go JP or Citylink to shop. Sat went JP but everywhere is so crowded. Wana try clothes also hard...zzz...

Singapore VS Thailand (and other happenings)

Anyone watched the match between sg & thai?? I dun find soccer interesting until i watched it last nite...mixed feelings reali..cos Singapore scored within 20-30mins or so & i was damn hapi :D Its always good to score a goal as early as possible :D But then started to realise the Thai team abit 'weak'...always fall down, then roll abt on the grass & grimaced, u noe dat kinda soccer stuff dat the players do?? The most interesting person would have to b The Referee! Sibei funi looking at his face when the Thai players juz walked off. Cos his face is forever the same - expressionless, lol!!! To b frank, the penalty awarded to Singapore...not sure reali fair anot. I've seen the replay a few times but not clear leh..i can see the hand behind the sg player's back but cannt see if he's reali pulling at the t-shirt leh. This referee hor, i tink he's quite lenient at 1st liao..mayb after dat he du lan, had enuf liao, decided to give penalty, lol.

A few comments i've seen at the forums. One is pretty funi ;D

"Dude, if you are a professional soccer player, you should accept that having dubious decision is part of the game. This is nothing compared to some of the dubious decision in EPL or other European leagues. How about those where the ball clearly passes the goal line but the referee didn't want to award a goal? Or how about those where the player was clearly offside but the referee award the goal to him in the last minute? I am sure we seen these all the time in European matches, but did they walk off? Such unprofessional attitude is downright childish. This is a international soccer game, not some kampong game where when you are not happy, you just walk off. The fans paid good money for the game, and they are the driving force behind the game of soccer, at least respect them and the organisers who made the match possible. If really not happy with the referee's decision, there is always a legal mean from FIFA to launch an official protest after the match." - makes sense rite this one?

"It was not a penalty, as far as I can see. But if Singapore ever like Thai situation and Singapore team walk off like that, I will feel malu to be a Singaporean, because this really really makes a team and the whole country looks bad. How many times have we seen dubious penalties awarded in EPL, plus all the diving and play acting to earn penalty and get people redcarded. U ever see the EPL team walk off because of that? THAT is what I call professionaism. Anyway, I believe Singapore team should be safe going to Thailand la. The only person not safe in Thailand is that Malaysian referee" - this one i read liao peng san! LOLOLOL

"By the way, if you remember World Cup 2002, the Italy vs Korea match was full of dubious decision, one after another against the italians, even Totti kena sent off, and it was a total joke match. But the Italians played to the end in which they lose. They then come back 4 years later and win the Cup. Such is their professionalism. I am pretty sure no Europe players will walk off over a penalty" - i dun watch soccer at all so duno wat he toking...but i assume such 'walking off' incident is not the norm ;D

"Must give bangkok a miss for a few months now" - LOLOLOL

"Scored by Mustafiq! Just only, hit roof corner, my blood pressure dropped to 0 for a moment" - mine also when i was waiting for him to give the golden kick :)

Another thing i've saw....Read liao sibei weird leh...why everything we also kenna? lol

"Johor minister says Singapore land reclamation cause of recent floods

Posted: 31 January 2007 2014 hrs JOHOR:

The Chief Minister of Malaysia's Johor state has cited land reclamation by neighbouring Singapore as a cause of the recent massive recent flooding. 17 people died and 100,000 were evacuated from their homes during the floods.

According to Malaysian daily, the New Straits Times, Mr Abdul Ghani Othman said the floods were due to the narrowing of the Johor River mouth caused by reclamation on Singapore's Tekong island located opposite the waterway.

He said the river burst its banks after excess rain water could not flow out to the sea fast enough.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak, however, said it was too early to tell if the flooding was linked to the reclamation. "There are all sorts of allegations but we can't come to a conclusion unless a thorough technical study is done on the cause of Johor's floods. The real cause is the exceptionally heavy rainfall," he said.

A spokesperson from Singapore's Ministry of National Development says these comments are unfounded and this is confirmed by the results from technical studies that were commissioned separately by both Malaysia and Singapore.

The studies were part of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea dispute settlement proceedings on Singapore's land reclamation works at Pulau Tekong and Tuas View Extension.

Singapore said a coastal hydraulic study undertaken by Malaysia's Department of Irrigation and Drainage in 2002 found that there were no appreciable changes to water levels within the Straits of Johor under projected worst case flood scenarios which could happen once in 100 years.

The study concluded that there was no increased flooding caused by Singapore's reclamation works. Separately, an environmental impact assessment report prepared by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and commissioned by the Malaysian government also reported similar findings. So too, did technical studies commissioned separately by the Singapore government in 2003.

The Ministry added that based on the results of these studies, the Group of Experts, which both governments appointed to study the impact of the reclamation works, had recommended that it would not be necessary for the flood impact to be further assessed by the technical consultant appointed for the Joint Study.

This was accepted by both governments."

R we like..pissing everyone off? lol
